“WE HAVE WHAT WE VOTE” is a project created by a civic coalition of several Moldovan organizations: the “Challenger” School of Critical Thinking for Youth, the platform for monitoring electoral promises deFacto, the “Pune Umarul” Civic Initiative and the “Femei cu idei” program.
This initiative is an apolitical and non-partisan project, which does not promote any party or political option. The initiative aims to improve the electoral environment.
Within the “WE HAVE WHAT WE VOTE” campaign, the participants identify the main issues that their peers face. Based on these issues, a set of questions is developed, which is addressed to the candidates to be elected. The answers received are compiled into a publication, which is then shared with other young people to encourage them to participate in the elections and to vote consciously.
This publication is accompanied by various other GOTV (Get Out The Vote) offline and online campaigns.
For example, for the presidential elections of October 30, 2016, the young people organized visibility events in four cities of Moldova - Chisinau, Balti, Soroca and Cahul - to draw attention to the issues faced by young people. Through the WE HAVE WHAT WE VOTE campaign, Challengers interacted directly with over 3,000 young people online and with over 40,000 offline.
For the 2020 presidential election, Challenger participants have prepared several videos that reflect the problems of young people and encourage them to participate in the elections and vote in an informed manner. Each video reflected a priority issue of young people identified through a February-April 2020 questionnaire, on a sample of 1,145 young people from the seven largest regions of the country: Chisinau, Balti, Cahul, Comrat, Orhei, Straseni and Hincesti.
